Al Salama Hospital Launches Guest and Family Advisory Council to Partner with Guests in Improving Care
Al Salama Hospital has launched its Guest and Family Advisory Council (GFAC), bringing guests and their families directly into the work of improving services and the care experience. The step reflects the hospital's commitment to humanized care and to placing the guest at the heart of every decision.
The Council meets with former guests and family members, alongside the Guest Experience team and department leaders. Participants discussed their experiences across the full care journey, from the call center and reception to inpatient stays, meals and intensive care.
Council meetings have produced a set of priorities that have been turned into specific improvement plans with the responsible departments. Changes already made in response to guest feedback include reserving a place in the Emergency Department from home before arriving, reserving a place at the Pharmacy through the Al Salama Hospital app, home delivery of medications, the launch of the Virtual Clinic, an updated and easier-to-use Al Salama Hospital app with wayfinding inside the hospital, and mats near the ablution area to reduce the risk of slipping. Progress on the remaining priorities will be reported back to the Council at its regular meetings.
Al Salama Hospital invites guests and family members who received care in the past two years to join the Council and help shape its services.
