Ethical, legal and governance statements

We believe you have the right to know how we make important decisions about your care. Here, we explain our commitments to you in simple, clear language. If you have any questions, please ask any member of staff or contact the Patient Experience Department.

1- Resuscitation (DNR) decisions

"Resuscitation decisions follow Ministry of Health regulations and our [DNR policy code]. When CPR would not help, 3 physicians ((including the Most Responsible Physician) make the decision and explain it to the patient and family. All other care continues: comfort, pain relief, nutrition, dignity and spiritual support."

2- End-of-life care

"We support patients at the end of life with comfort-focused care, family presence and spiritual support. In line with Islamic Sharia and Saudi law, we do not perform euthanasia or physician-assisted suicide."

3- Organ and tissue donation

"We support donation in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT). Families are approached with respect for their beliefs and their right to decide. Donation never affects the care a patient receives."

4- Privacy and sensitive information

"Your health information is confidential. Only your care team can see it, and we share it with family only with your permission, unless the law requires otherwise. Sensitive matters such as mental health, reproductive and women's health, infectious diseases and substance use receive extra protection."

5- Fair access to care

"We give emergency care to anyone who needs it, whatever their nationality, insurance or ability to pay. Every patient is treated equally, without discrimination."

6- Conflicts of interest and clinician pay

"Treatment decisions are based only on your clinical needs and the best evidence. Our doctors are not paid commissions linked to prescriptions, tests or referrals, and staff declare relationships with pharmaceutical or device companies every year."

7- Our people

"Our staff are recruited, licensed and paid fairly, based on qualifications and performance. Every clinician holds a current Saudi Commission for Health Specialties license, and we review their competence regularly."
