Patient Rights
Being a patient at Al Salama hospital, you have the right to:
- Expect being treated with respect, and care by the doctors and the whole staff.
- Know the names and specializations of the medical team based on treatment and inform you of the presence of licensed trainees or researchers within the medical team.
- Anyone who is not related to you, or your care plan, is not allowed. To insure your safety and comfort.
- The attending physician will explain your medical condition in the language and method that you understand and provide a translator in case the doctor does not speak your language.
- Ask the physician treating you if they have washed their hands to avoid the possibility of an infection.
- Receive a reasonable explanation & information relevant to your diagnosis, management plan, treatment, and expected outcomes & to have the chance to ask questions & have clear answers before you sign any consent form.
- Open a medical file at no expenses in any private hospitals Access to service pricing lists in advance.
- Receive a printed copy of your medical prescription if the hospital is using an electronic system, and to have all the medications written in their generic names.
- Receive your medical record at no expenses. Receive in advance all the expected expenses of treatment. with a detailed bill about the delivered services and their cost.
- Be transferred to another hospital if your case is an emer- gency, and be informed of the reasons.
- Reporting any person who smokes inside the facility to the responsible authority.
- Ensure that all infection control measures are taken inside the hospital. Within 14 days of your initial visit, your follow-up appoint- ment should be free of charge.
Patient Duties
Patients and their families must adhere to the following in order to be able to provide the existing service that satisfies you:
- Provide the treating physician and care providers with adequate and accurate information about past illnesses, hospitalizations, medication, and other matters relating to your health story.
- Cooperate with all the center personnel and ask questions if you don't understand direction and procedures.
- Not to take any drug that has not been prescribed by your physician
- Comply with the hospital rules and regulations in case of refusing the planned diagnostic or surgical procedure.
- Be considerate of other patients.
- Be accountable of paying for all services before leaving the hospital.
